(CPI), a global manufacturer providing products and solutions that optimize, store and secure technology equipment, has increased the surface contact area for network cables by 400% with the introduction of OnTrac® Shaped Wire Mesh Tray. This dramatic increase in surface area over many standard basket trays allows OnTrac Shaped Tray to create point-to-point cable pathways in data centers and network equipment rooms that are ideal for supporting high performance and high density cabling. Replacing the traditional round cross wires used on most wire mesh trays with unique flattened cross wires, Shaped Tray is able to reduce pressure and strain by 68% for cables that come in contact with the tray. This simple change allows Shaped Tray to increase cable support and contact area, while still implementing the same installation techniques, splices, supports and accessories as CPI’s Standard Wire Mesh Tray, making it easy to adopt and use. “This is a win-win for CPI,” said Michael Moore, Product Manager for CPI’s Open Architecture Systems. “OnTrac’s new Shaped Tray is an alternative premium wire basket tray offering over CPI’s current Standard Tray by providing increased cable support along with reduced cable pressure and strain relief, thus increasing network cable performance at no additional cost.”Shaped Tray has also been engineered for compatibility with data centers, office spaces and other facilities working toward LEED certification. (CPI), a global manufacturer providing products and solutions that optimize, store and secure technology equipment, is proud to introduce eConnect™ Power Distribution Units (PDUs) as a new generation of power management solutions for enterprise data centers. Offering a low profile design that reduces airflow disruptions, an ambient air temperature rating of 149°F (65°C) and more than 160 standard configurations, eConnect PDUs are the ultimate connecting point between thermal innovation and intelligent power distribution. Available in five models with numerous outlet and plug configurations, eConnect PDUs provide a broad range of functionality that spans from establishing basic connections to equipment, to remote access with monitoring and switching capabilities on each individual outlet. All eConnect PDUs are also UL Listed in the US and Canada, CE marked for use in the European Union and meet NOM requirements for use in Mexico. Models currently available include the Basic, Monitored, Monitored Pro, Switched and Switched Pro eConnect PDUs. “The eConnect product line represents a major step for CPI in becoming a world class in-rack power distribution provider,” said Anderson Hungria, CPI Sr. Product Manager for Power and Electronics. “A lot of engineering, testing and attention to specific customer needs, like flexibility and thermal concerns, went into designing these PDUs. And looking at the finished product you can see that CPI is highly committed to expanding its power capabilities within data centers.” All eConnect PDUs are available globally and include the following features: An ambient temperature rating of 149°F (65°C), which is capable of supporting any hot aisle containment solution A low profile design with universal tool-less mounting that easily integrates into your cabinet’s zero U space for maximized cabinet space and airflow Numerous voltage and outlet options Selected eConnect models also include quick and easy setup for remote monitoring and switching, IP consolidation of up to 20 PDUs from a single IP address and easy set-up from an interactive local display “eConnect PDUs will allow customers to accurately monitor energy usage at the server level and reliably power critical loads in high temperature environments,” added Hungria. “eConnect’s low profile flush mounted breaker design will also improve workspace inside the cabinet and eliminate the risk of accidental shut offs."
