Robb Jones, Chatsworth Products’ (CPI) Sales Manager for Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington states, is the first CPI employee to earn the BICSI Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC) designation. Jones passed the DCDC test in half the time allotted to take it.
Released in 2011, the DCDC test was created to recognize the individuals who have demonstrated both the knowledge and ability to apply it over the multiple facets within data center design. Candidates for the designation are individuals involved in the planning, implementing and making of critical decisions regarding data centers. BICSI recommends this credential for Data center, IT, facility or project managers, architects, engineers, designers, consultants and those planning to enter careers in the data center design, construction or maintenance fields.
Congratulations to Robb Jones on this achievement!
CPI is proud to employ individuals with such high credentials. Additionally, several CPI employees, including Jones, possess the RCDD certification. See the complete list here.

This June 6-8, 2011, Edinburgh, Scotland plays host to the 2011 BICSI European Conference and Exhibition. With a European office located in the United Kingdom, Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI) is looking forward to being a part of this important and truly global gathering of industry professionals from across the region.
Furthermore, CPI's involvement will extend past the exhibit hall with a special technical presentation delivered by Ian Cathcart, RCDD and Technical Support Manager at Chatsworth Products International Ltd., Bourne End, United Kingdom.
Ian's presentation, entitled "How to Build a Data Centre Cooling Budget," will focus on cooling as a significant part of both the capital and operating budget for a data center, and how, if not accurately planned, cooling can either be a limiting factor on future growth or an unnecessary drain on an organization's overall profitability. With tips for design, equipment selection, and an example of CPI's specialized CFD Modeling service, attendees can expect an insider's perspective to cost-effective and efficient cooling techniques. This presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, 10AM-11AM during the morning general session.
We invite and encourage our European region customers and contractors to attend and look forward to a great show. To attend or learn more about this event, click here for more info.

Chatsworth recently built a multi-million dollar Research, Development and Training Center in Georgetown, Texas that has more than 10,000 square feet of space dedicated to development, testing and showcasing of CPI products and solutions.
The RD&T Center offers visitors the ability to observe real-world data center thermal testing and allows CPI to perform top-notch in-house product testing. It also has a fully equipped training center, product showroom and modern customer meeting center. For complete details about the center, please visit our website at www.chatsworth.com/rdt.
This week CPI is celebrating the completion of the center with ribbon-cutting ceremonies and facility tours. The celebration kicked off today with an Employee Open House for our employee owners who work at the Georgetown facility. For many it was the first opportunity to get a close look at the features of the center. For others it was a time to enjoy the months of hard work and planning that went in to such an extraordinary center.
